Excellence and promise in the field of Science
The King family spans three generations with roots in Berlin, Connecticut. Our matriarch, Jean Mitchell, has been shadowed by two additional generations of UCONN graduates with the most recent celebrating careers in Chemistry, Psychology, and post graduate education in School Counseling and Veterinary Science.
The Mitchell-King Memorial Scholarship was created by the family of Edward and Jean (Mitchell) King. It is awarded to a student who has shown excellence and promise in the field of science.
Edward and Jean King resided in Kensington, CT since the early 1960’s and raised four children, all of whom graduated from Berlin High School. Jean was a 1948 graduate of the University of Connecticut majoring in Microbiology. Edward graduated from the University of Hartford majoring in Engineering.
